Special appointment for the Dedalo Minosse Talk organized for the Italian Pavilion at the 17th International Architecture Exhibition of the Venice Biennale!
In "To entrust and trust. The role of the client in architecture as a discipline for the future environment." a panel of Italian and international speakers will question the role of the client in architecture, the real cornerstone of the Award.
The word Client in Italian implies the action of entrusting a task, according to an active role that goes beyond the idea of a customer as a simple recipient of a work.
The Client is the beginning and end of a complex process, the project which is articulated in a constant dialectic between opposites. Opposing private and public interests, the local and the global, the economic aspects and the pursuit of quality, the environment and the built.
Never as today, in a global world, overpopulated and with great socio-economic disparities, every action of building has direct and indirect repercussions, every project subtracts and adds.
The conscious choices of the Client imply the need not to waste and not to pollute, as well as lead to precious opportunities to improve the quality of life of people.
The occasion of the Architecture Biennale opens the works of the twelfth edition of the Dedalo Minosse Prize and of the II edition of the Client Forum and compare the 5 figures who contribute to the design process (architect, client, decision maker, enterprise and citizen) and who are, even a little jokingly, personified by the guests who are here today, thanks to their great competence, experience and talent, to share with us their works and their thoughts about new scenarios for a world in constant change.
Institutional greeting: Alessandro Melis, Curator of the Italian Pavilion of the Venice Biennale.
